Relating to Tough Emotions With The 8 C’s

Wellbeing advice from specialist counsellors and psychologists in Melbourne CBD

Wellbeing advice from specialist counsellors and psychologists in Melbourne CBD

At Rockwell Bates we have a core central policy known as “Human2Human” or “H2H. The concept places our needs as humans (including a focus on our mental and physical health and wellbeing) as the top priority in the way we do everything, both internally and in the way we practice law. For example we run family law cases on the basis that the issues are usually more of a human problem as much as a technical and legal problem.

As part of our focus we have teamed up with a number of recommended agencies that provide mental health and wellbeing services, for example psychologists, counsellors and coaches. I’m therefore pleased to let you know about Couples Therapy Melbourne, a private practice in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD who provide specialised counselling for individuals and couples. By way of an introduction this is a blog by their Dr Elizabeth Landau called “Relating to Tough Emotions with the 8 C’s” which provides a very neat explanation of the theory developed by Dr. Janina Fisher, a psychotherapist and trauma specialist about learning to detach from difficult emotions and sensations resultant from trauma and stressor-related experiences.
